  • 1/2 cup brown sugar for topping
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans for topping
  • 1 1/2 cups very hot water for baking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugars, and spices until combined.
  3. In another bowl, stir together pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter or oil, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until thick batter forms; transfer to a greased 8-inch casserole dish.
  5. Mix granulated sugar and brown sugar with chopped pecans; sprinkle over the batter evenly.
  6. Pour very hot water over the mixture without stirring.
