  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup dark cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • ¼ cup granulated white sugar (for cream cheese layer)
  • 1 large egg (for cream cheese layer)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for cream cheese layer)
  • orange food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line an 8 x 8 baking dish with parchment paper and spray it with non-stick spray.
  2. In a bowl, mix together granulated sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Stir in eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese with sugar and egg until smooth. Add vanilla extract and orange food coloring; mix until incorporated.
  5. Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter, then swirl gently with a knife. Pour remaining brownie batter on top and add more cream cheese dollops if desired.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
