  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or milk alternative
  • 1 cup whole milk or milk alternative
  • 1 large egg or flax egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
  • 1 cup cookie butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup crushed spiced cookies (like Biscoff)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and sea salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, egg (or flax egg), and vanilla until blended.
  3. Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth; place in greased bowl and let rise for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Punch down risen dough and roll out into a rectangle.
  6. Spread cookie butter, softened butter, and crushed cookies over dough; roll tightly into a cylinder and slice into 12 pieces.
  7. Place rolls cut-side up on a lined baking sheet; allow to rise again for about 30 minutes before baking for approximately 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with water until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
